Our building is our history, but Christ is our legacy.

The original Springfield Methodist Church building opened in July, 1865 just two months after the end of the Civil War.  The church had been meeting in one form or another, however, since 1824, originally pastored by Thomas Upjohn of Oxford, Ohio. The original building was located on what is now the church cemetery, slightly west on Oxford Pike.  The 1865 building was fully complete in 1866, and it still serves as our sanctuary today.  The social room, kitchen and basement classrooms were added in 1951, with Howard and Grace Miles donating the land for the expansion.
